Bang & Olufson
When sound becomes architecture.

Impact
snapshot
Luxury brands don’t need louder launches. They need experiences that embody the brand.
At Decorex Africa 2024, Bang & Olufsen partnered with Malkoppi to create the Art of Sound Experience Centre, a premium exhibition environment designed to express the brand’s design language through sound, space, and detail.
Set within one of the continent’s leading design exhibitions, the installation placed Bang & Olufsen at the centre of the luxury design conversation.
The challenge
Bang & Olufsen did not need a standard exhibition stand.
The brief was to create a branded environment that could showcase the sculptural quality of the product, deliver intimate listening experiences, and reflect the refinement of the brand within a highly competitive exhibition space.
The solution
Malkoppi designed and delivered the Art of Sound Experience Centre as a fully considered brand environment.
At the centre of the installation was the bespoke B&O Sound Room, where guests moved through curated sound demonstrations designed to highlight the depth, clarity, and presence of the audio experience.
The space was built to feel tactile, minimal, and immersive, allowing visitors to engage with the brand in a way that felt physical rather than promotional.
What we delivered
Malkoppi delivered the full exhibition environment, including:
• Concept and experience design
• Industrial design
• Sourcing, manufacture, and installation
• Exhibition logistics and on site coordination
• VIP guest management
• Influencer outreach
• Social media support
Impact
The installation gave Bang & Olufsen a brand presence that felt considered, elevated, and true to the product.
Rather than competing for attention, the experience created its own atmosphere and positioned the brand as a clear voice within South Africa’s luxury design space.
Outstanding success! The launch drew in the crowds & left lasting impressions!
